No Limits

“The only limits you have are the limits you believe.” ~ Wayne Dyer

Are you allowing limiting beliefs to keep you from following your dreams? Is there something you’re passionate about but afraid to commit to? A gift or talent that excites you, but you’ve given up on? If you have dreams that motivate you. If you hear whispering in your heart. These are the signposts to your destiny.

The road we take is uniquely ours. And yet in our culture, we push conformity over individuality. We pass down limiting stories in old sayings like, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” or “You made your bed, so now you have to sleep in it.”

This old dog is ready to learn a few new tricks— and remake my bed while I’m at it. I’m embracing the no-limit attitude that Wayne Dyer endorses. I’m going to join the legion of late-bloomers and trailblazers who never gave up.

People like Charles Darwin, who published The Origin of Species at age 50. Cormac McCarthy, who penned All the Pretty Horses at age 60. Laura Ingalls Wilder, who wrote Little House in the Big Woods at age 65. Heck, I’m not 60 yet and I’ve written five books. I haven’t achieved the influence I’m dreaming of, but I’m not letting that stop me. I’m going to keep writing, editing, submitting, querying, and learning more about my craft.

411 Universe— I’m ready to step into my flow. For doors to open magically and opportunities that feel like coincidence to abound. I’m ready to let go of old stories grounded in fear. I refuse to listen to anyone or anything that keeps me from pursuing my dreams. I’m listening to the voice inside me, that has the melodious ring of a child’s laughter. The voice that encourages me to take risks and follow my dreams.

What would you choose to make of your life if there were no limits?
