The Light is in You

Eckhart Tolle’s Essential Teachings July 4 podcast, The Light of Being Shines Through Our Humanness, blew my mind. What resonated for me the most was his intuitive realization that “consciousness emanates from the source of all life, of God, in the same way that light is the emanation of the sun.” We are each like a ray of sunshine. Not separate but connected.

The greatest miracle and mystery that scientists have not been able to answer is where this light of Consciousness exists. That is because they look outward, into the physical realm of our world, when the answer is found through the inward journey, where the light is alive inside of us. Scientists have explored every atom and cell in the human body and cannot find thoughts or emotions, because they exist on a different dimension. Eckhart calls it the transcendent. Some people think of it as heaven. The word is not as important as the direction.

The Ego’s main tool to lead us off course is to point us in the wrong direction. Its goal is to maintain the deception that we are separate from the Source of all life, that I call God. We all have those misleading thoughts come into our awareness, but we need to guard our mind and not allow them to take hold. We all have negative people in our lives who tell us we are not enough, that we are not supported, and that we’ll never achieve our dreams. Don’t believe those lies. Don’t let them bring you down. Be aware of the light of your being.

We are human beings. The being is the light, the human is the home for the light during the journey through this life. Our human form is a home and a temple and must be treated as such. So sweep out all the negative thoughts on a regular basis. Consistently fill your home with light. Open the windows. Pull up the blinds. When fear knocks at your door, let faith answer. When opportunity knocks, open your door wide and embrace it. The light is in you; let it shine.
